On February 24th, Stanford Law School’s Fashion, Art, and Design Society will be having a lunchtime talk — Discussing Legal Design — with Professor Jay Mitchell.
Our speaker will be Jay Mitchell, professor and director of the Organizations and Transaction Clinic at SLS, and former senior in-house lawyer at Levi Strauss & Co. He will discuss two topics: (i) the value of drawing pictures and using visuals in doing legal work and (ii) bringing a design sensibility to legal documents. These matters are reflected in his forthcoming book, targeted to students, about corporate and transactional practice. Following the presentation will be a Q&A period. Topics for questions could include questions about drawing and design in law, being a lawyer in a fashion business, the clinic’s representation of arts organizations, or corporate and commercial practice generally.
