The Legal Design Lab is thrilled to be the home of the new Access to Justice Network, the successor organization to the Self-Represented Litigation Network.

What is the Access to Justice Network?
The Access to Justice Network (A2J Network) is a community of judges, court managers, attorneys, librarians, researchers, technologists, and community leaders dedicated to closing the justice gap. It is open to justice professionals worldwide, as well as professionals who work with them to make effective, innovative, and well-designed justice systems.
The Access to Justice Network aims to spread best practices, innovations, resources, and trainings to spread and scale great work across different jurisdictions

What does the A2J Network do?
The Access to Justice Network has 3 main streams of activity.
- Email List: The A2J Network runs a very active email list, where professionals can ask questions, share opportunities, post news and events, and connect with others who are working on similar efforts. This email list is members-only. Join by applying to the Network.
- Working Groups: The A2J Network facilitates regular Working Groups on themes that the community requests. At these monthly or bi-monthly Zoom meetings, community members can hear presentations, ask questions, share their work, and find new ways to collaborate. Once you join the network, you can join any of the Working Groups.
- Conference: The A2J Network will build from SRLN’s regular national conferences, which is held every 2 years. The next conference will be in Autumn 2026. At the Network Conference, professionals can attend workshops, hear presentations, build relationships, and set a common agenda for justice innovation.
Working Groups for 2024-2025

If you have ideas for future Working Groups or would like to participate in the Conference, please join the Network and be in touch with us! The Access to Justice Network is community-driven, and we are always looking for ideas, leaders, and new initiatives that can help justice professionals.
How does the A2J Network relate to SRLN?
The Access to Justice Network is the successor organization to the Self-Represented Litigation Network (SRLN). SRLN was formed in 2005, and has been a pre-eminent community of practice for people working on access to justice, civil justice reform, legal empowerment, and human-centered design of the legal system.
Beginning in 2025, SRLN’s community of practice and many of its resources were assumed by the Access to Justice Network, hosted at the Stanford Legal Design Lab.
