This weekend in Seattle, there is the Social Justice Game Jam — the first of a kind event to create new games to help people deal with their legal problems.
We invite you to participate the first Social Justice Game Jam. Every year 53% of the low-income households in Washington face at least one civil legal problem without adequate legal assistance. Problems can range from predatory lending to foreclosure to various kinds of debt. There are many legal advocates helping those in need, however due to the difference in numbers not everyone gets the help they need. This is where you come in.
The Social Justice Game Jam is on of the first game jams aimed at creating games that address this problem. In this event, we will be bringing together game developers and legal advocates to collaborate and create games that either directly teach skills or educate the public about current issues.
You can get tickets at Eventbrite. The event starts on Fri, Feb 17, 2017 at 6:00 PM and goes to Sunday evening.
