Red Cards
The Red Cards were created to help both citizens and noncitizens defend themselves against constitutional violations during ICE raids. These cards provide citizens and noncitizens with information about how to assert their constitution rights and an explanation for ICE agents that the individuals are indeed asserting their constitutional rights.
A Bay Area-specific version of the Know Your Rights Card is available free of charge to non-profit organizations within the following nine counties: San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Solano, Sonoma, and Napa. If you will be distributing the cards to immigrants in these counties, please send your inquiry to redcards@ilrc.org.
Creating Your Own Know Your Rights Cards
The ILRC is providing a limited number of free red cards throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. The cards are designed to help citizens and noncitizens defend themselves against constitutional violations during ICE raids. These cards provide citizens and noncitizens with information about how to assert their constitutional rights as well as an explanation for ICE agents that the individuals are indeed asserting their constitutional rights.
We’ve had several requests for customized cards, which we’re unfortunately unable to fill, so we’re making the card artwork available for other organizations to customize or otherwise create their own Know Your Rights cards.
Instructions:
You can find the artwork in Pagemaker format here or in PDF format (cannot be edited) here. If you download the Pagemaker file, once you’ve made changes and are ready to print, you’ll need to export the artwork to PDF format to send to your printer. Most print shops should be able to print the cards for you, but we recommend taking the print job to someone who prints business cards.
We are providing this artwork and information free of charge to help spread this vital information among the immigrant population, but we are unable to provide technical assistance on downloading, editing, or printing the Know Your Rights cards.
